The Association of Translation Companies elects Ruth Partington as Vice-Chair

The below is a press release from 6th July 2017 by PR agency Word Association

Ruth Partington, Managing Director of one of the UK’s leading translation agencies, RP Translate limited, has been elected Vice-Chair of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC).

Ruth has been a member of the ATC Council since 2014, notably revolutionising the Association’s Membership Application process as Chair of the Membership Committee. In 2016, she took up the position of Chair of the Conference Organising Committee.

Ruth succeeds Jesper Sandberg, whose two terms as Vice-Chair were completed at the Annual General Meeting held on 22nd June.

Ruth PartingtonCommenting on her election, ATC Chair Roy Allkin said: “On behalf of all of the ATC members, I would like to congratulate Ruth on taking on this important role – we all feel very fortunate to have her support in driving the ATC forward.

“Ruth has always set a fantastic example to others, undertaking additional responsibilities to help benefit the language industry and the Association, such as chairing the ATC Annual Conference Organising Committee and our Membership Committee.

“It is this commitment and experience that makes her the ideal person to assume the position of Vice-Chair and I look forward to working closely with her over the coming months and years.”

Founder of Bristol-based LSP, RP Translate, Ruth has using excellent quality language services and consultancy to bridge the gap between Insight Professionals and global research participants for more than 25 years..

Ruth added: “I am proud and honoured to accept the position of Vice-Chair. I started volunteering for the ATC three years ago as a way to give back to the industry, and I am delighted to now be assuming such an important position.

“With the uncertainty still surrounding Brexit and the impact that it might have on our industry, it is now vital, more than ever, to strengthen awareness and understanding of the sector and the important role it can play in helping drive future economic success and social stability.

“I am very excited by the challenge ahead and look forward to working alongside all of my ATC colleagues to help the association achieve its goals for 2017 and beyond.”
